I have been making things and painting since I was able to hold a pencil. One of my favorite childhood memories is of wearing a painting smock (which was one of Dad’s old shirts), and Mum placing newspaper over the table to protect it before my sister and I would start with our pots of paint, thick brushes and a glass of water for washing up.
As I became an adult, life took another direction as it does, and I became a Mum and a Registered Nurse, specialising in Emergency Care.
I did this for over thirty years but continued my passion for art and creativity along the way.
I love painting (I have been a professional artist, mostly acrylics for over six years), sewing, making and fixing things, chalk painting furniture, interior decorating, designing (I designed our house, above), designing the garden, gardening and plants, knitting, crocheting, cooking (my mantra is, delicious but super quick and easy), and I love reading.
I have been one of the Marie Kondo converts I must admit, and I love natural healing, herbs, flower essences, essential oils, energy healing (I have done Reiki I and II), spirituality, music, writing (I have written a Blog for Yellow Door Care, a home nursing company, and written several children’s books published as the Molly and Poppy series).
I love learning and teaching, so what better way to embrace all these things than to create my own blog!
I have three sons, two of whom are now adults, and I live with my husband in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. I have three gorgeous grandchildren and my beautiful youngest son still lives at home with us.
Having recently retired from nursing, my creative life is now before me, wanting to take center stage after waiting patiently for so long.
I look forward to sharing it with you!
