Painted from a photo I took of a gorgeous show-off Pelican while visiting Point Turton on the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia.
I always loved the book ‘Storm Boy’ by Colin Thiele. Mr Percival is the most well-known of the three pelicans, but the other two were Mr Proud and Mr Ponder.
I felt that this particular pelican was definitely a Mr Proud.
